He has studied at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He specializes in directing comedy films. Most feature either Govinda, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor or Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, along with Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla frequently playing the leading actresses. Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor and Paresh Rawal frequently appear in his comedy films playing supporting roles.
