Osmotic systems, one of the oral dosage form utilize the principles of osmotic pressure for the delivery of drugs. Drug release from these systems is independent of pH and other physiological parameters and it is also possible to modulate the release characteristics by optimizing the properties of drug and system. The aim of present research was to design and optimize the three novel osmotic drug delivery systems viz. Swellable Porous Osmotic System (SPOP), Monolithic Osmotic Tablet System (MOTS)
