High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Elections in Bolivia gives information on elections and election results in Bolivia. Bolivia elects on national level a head of state – the president – and a legislature. The president and the vice-president are elected for a five-year term by the people or parliament. The National Congress has two chambers. The Chamber of Deputies has 130 members, elected for a five-year term by a mixture of proportional representation and first-past-the-post. The Chamber of Senators has 27 members: each of the country's nine departments returns three senators: two from the party or formula that receives the most votes, with the third senator representing the second-placed party. Bolivia has a multi-party system, with numerous parties in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and parties must work with each other to form coalition governments
