Droplet evaporation is important to health, climate, and the applications in drug delivery to the lungs, the engineering of nanostructures through spray drying, and the delivery of fuels for combustion. Valid simulation and computer code have been developed for multi-component droplet evaporation. Droplet size and surrounding gas temperature and pressure have been examined for the moving boundary coupled mass and heat transport problem. The code describes well the evolution of temperature, droplet size, and inhomogeneities with the temperature and compositions. Only one single crystal NaCl for each evaporating ethanol-water-NaCl droplet. Based on the simulation, various architectures such as hollow spheres, drug capsules, and high specific surface area anatase have been attentively made by various engineering controls. Ordered core-shell Ce/silica particles have been generated by aerosol-assisted evaporation-induced self-assembly. Photo controlled release is realized by functionalizing pore surfaces with azobenzene ligands. A proper formulation is proposed for long- term corrosion inhibition of aluminum alloy AA2024- T3.
