It was named for the botanist Alice Eastwood. This is a daisylike perennial native to the meadows and woodlands of the Pacific Northwest. It has branching stems reaching one half to one meter in height, with hairy, rounded basal leaves and a few lance-shaped leaves along the narrow, hairy stems.
