Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Eva Avila (born Eva Gougeon-Avila on February 25, 1987 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian singer and songwriter from Gatineau, Quebec, who was the winner of the fourth season of the CTV reality show Canadian Idol in 2006. She was the second female winner in the show's history. Avila's father introduced her to music and she has been singing in public since the age of 2, and at the age of 9 was a winner on Homegrown Cafe, a talent show on CJOH-TV, in Ottawa. Her nickname, given by her family when she was a small child, is still Eva le dragon (English: Eva the dragon). Prior to Idol, she had been working as a postal clerk and a beauty consultant. She had also been a former winner of the Jeune Diva du Quebec contest. Avila also participated in another competition for a Quebec TV teleroman aired on Radio-Canada called Virginie. She usually speaks English and French, as well a little Spanish because her father is of Peruvian origin.
