They were armed with one 12-pounder gun and two bow torpedo tubes. They carried a complement of 53. They were followed by the larger Banshee class which were built by Laird less than a year later. The Royal Navy of the United Kingdom is the oldest of HM Armed Forces (and is therefore known as the Senior Service).
