WWW1) which was organized by Robert Cailliau was held at Geneva, Switzerland from May 25 to May 27 in 1994 and was hosted by CERN. After Cailliau lobbied inside CERN and at conferences like the Hypertext conference 1991 (in San Antonio) and 1993 (in Seattle) he came back from the conference 1993 he announced a new conference called World Wide Web Conference 1. He was actually 23 hours faster than the NCSA announced Mosaic and the Web. The conference had 380 participants, and was hailed as the Woodstock of the Web, because 800 persons applied to the conference.
