The Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main is a state Hochschule for Music, Theater and Dance in Frankfurt and is the only one of its kind in the Federal State of Hesse. It was founded in 1938. At present around 850 students are taught by about 60 professors and 350 teachers. The study programs include Performance in all instruments and voice, music pedagogy as well as composition, conducting and church music. There are also programs in music theater, drama and dance. The Hochschule offers graduate studies in musicology and music pedagogy.
