High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Franz Wohlfahrt (7 March 1833, Leipzig – 14 February 1884, Leipzig) was a violin teacher in Leipzig, Germany, where his father, Heinrich Wohlfahrt, was a piano teacher. He wrote a series of etudes, 60 Studies for Violin, Op. 45, which are often among the first ones studied by beginning violinists and violists. The violin is a string instrument, usually with four strings tuned in perfect fifths. It is the smallest and highest-pitched member of the violin family of string instruments, which also includes the viola and cello, and occasionally the double bass.
