High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Gandy Bridge is the southernmost bridge spanning Old Tampa Bay from St. Petersburg, Florida to Tampa, Florida. The original span was dismantled in 1975, while the second bridge was used for traffic until 1997, and then converted to pedestrian use for recreation it is now known as the Friendship Trail Bridge. It is proposed for demolition as of 2012. The third and fourth spans of the Gandy Bridge are currently being used for vehicle traffic.
