Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Generic Java programming language (Generic Java or GJ) is a superset of the Java programming language which adds support for generic programming. It was designed by the team who had previously created the Pizza language. Generic Java was incorporated, essentially unchanged, into the official Java language version J2SE 5.0. Java is a programming language originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which is now a subsidiary of Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++ but has a simpler object model and fewer low-level facilities.
