High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Gerald Barnbaum (born 1933, in Chicago, Illinois), aka "Gerald Barnes", was an impostor doctor or quack, and criminal who repeatedly posed as a medical doctor. Originally trained as a pharmacist, Barnbaum had lost his license in the aftermath of Medicaid fraud charges in the mid-1970s. He moved to California, and, after having legally changed his last name to Barnes, in 1976 stole the identity of a licensed medical doctor, Gerald Barnes, and worked steadily as a physician in the Los Angeles and Southern California region for the next few years.
