Types of music heard on the channel include soul, Praise and Worship, country music, Southern Gospel, Christian rock and hip hop. GMC was founded in 2004 by Brad Siegel, formerly of Turner Broadcasting System, and Charles Humbard, son of televangelist Rex Humbard. The younger Humbard said in 2006 that GMC could be seen in between 5 and 10 million homes, and that the channel would need 20 to 25 million homes make a profit. Based in Atlanta, GMC could be seen there and in Detroit, in New England, and in the area of the United States known as the Bible Belt. Since March 19, 2008, it has been seen on DirecTV, channel 338
