Hard Kaur born Taran Kaur Dhillon in 1979, is an Indian rapper and hip hop singer, as well as playback singer in Hindi films; she is the first female Indian rapper , and the first female Punjabi rapper.Born Taran Kaur Dillon in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where her mother ran a small beauty parlour in the house . She lost her father when she was just five years old during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the family beauty parlour was burnt. Subsequently she, her brother and her mother moved to Ludhiana to her maternal grandparents house, where they stayed for the next couple of years.
