High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! HMAS Warrego (D70), named for the Warrego River, was a River class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Warrego was laid down by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company Limited at Govan in Scotland, then taken to pieces and the parts shipped out to Cockatoo Island Dockyard in Sydney, where they were re- assembled. She was launched on 4 April 1911 and commissioned into the RAN on 1 June 1912.
