She was captured by the Royal Navy on 19 April 1782 at the Battle of the Mona Passage, and commissioned as the third rate HMS Argonaut. She was placed on harbour service in 1797, and eventually broken up in 1831. The French Navy, officially the Marine nationale (National Navy) and often called La Royale[2] is the maritime arm of the French military.
