She was rebuilt at Deptford in 1699, remaining as a 70-gun third rate. Burford was wrecked on February 14, 1719 after running aground at an unspecified location on the Italian coast. The Royal Navy of the United Kingdom is the oldest of HM Armed Forces (and is therefore known as the Senior Service).
