High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! HMS H42 was a British H class submarine built by Armstrong Whitworth, Newcastle Upon Tyne. She was laid down in September 1917 and was commissioned on 1 May 1919. HMS H42 was sunk after being rammed by the British destroyer HMS Versatile off Gibraltar on 23 March 1922. All of the crew were lost. The British H class submarines were Holland 602 type submarines used by the Royal Navy.
