Samuel White and Company at Cowes on the Isle of Wight on 20 September 1937, launched on 26 September 1938 and commissioned on 28 April 1939. Jersey struck an aircraft-dropped mine off Malta`s Grand Harbour on 2 May 1941 and sank next to the Grand Harbour breakwater.
