High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! HMS L3 was a British L class submarine built by Vickers, Barrow. She was laid down on 21 June 1916 and was commissioned on 31 January 1918. HMS L3 was placed in the Reserve Flotilla in Hong Kong in 1923. She was sold in February 1931 and broken up in Charlestown, Fife. The British L class submarine were originally planned under the emergency war programme as an improved version of the British E class submarine. The scale of change allowed the L class to become a separate class.
