High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! HMS Lagos (D44) was a Battle-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She was named in honour of the Battle of Lagos which happened in 1759 off the coast of Portugal, between the Royal Navy and a French fleet, resulting in a British victory. Lagos was built by Cammell Laird of Birkenhead. She was launched on 4 August 1944 and commissioned on 2 November 1945.
