High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! HMS Primrose (1807) was a Royal Navy Cruizer class brig-sloop built by Thomas Nickells at Fowey and launched in 1807. She was commissioned in November 1807 under Cmdr. James Mein, who sailed her to the coast of Spain. On 14 May 1808 Primrose was in the Tagus with the 14-gun brig Rapid. During an attempt to cut out two merchant ships fire from shore batteries sank Rapid. However, Primrose launched her boats and was able to save Rapid's entire crew.
