She was constructed, like other Thornycroft destroyers of the period, of a new high tensile steel to save weight and was an improvement on the Ardent-class design. She was armed with the standard single twelve pounder gun, five single six pounder guns and two torpedo tubes of the time and carried a complement of 63 officers and men. She served in the Mediterranean for a time before returning to home waters. She survived World War I to be sold in 1921.
