Among the new features: beginning at Elementary level, guided writing sections gradually replace project work, providing a stronger focus on writing skills; activities are clearly labelled as "optional" in the Student`s Books to help the teacher select the right balance of core and optional material for their own timetable requirements; activities are cross-referenced to a new grammar reference section which provides a clear explanation of the grammar syllabus; reading texts are recorded on to the course cassettes to provide a clear pronunciation model; a new "Learning to learn" feature encourages students to take more control of their own learning needs.
