Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. IBM ThinkPad 240 was an ultra-portable laptop computer designed and produced by IBM. It is one of the few of the Thinkpad 200-series made available in America and one of the most advanced laptops of its time due to its professional satisfactory performance coupled with ultra mobility. The first 240s ran with the 300 MHz Mobile Celeron processor which was great performance for its time, as well as 64MB RAM that couldn't be removed with two slots for memory expansion. The laptop also was one of the first of its time to feature the Mini PCI card slot. Due to its size the machine couldn't feature an optical drive of sort or even any common type of removable media. The inclusion of a USB 1.0 port solved this, which allowed the use of external optical drives. The laptop was shipped either with a standard 6 GB Hard Drive or with the 12GB upgrade option.
