Independiente is a record label formed in 1997 after Andy MacDonald sold Go! Discs Records to PolyGram in 1996 for a reported 30 million. In the UK, the label is distributed by Sony Music Entertainment for Travis and Vital PIAS for their other artists, whilst their US output is distributed by Epic Records (Travis only). Bands like Embrace, White Rose Movement, David Ford, Sun House, The Shortwave Set, Gomez, Firstborn and Howling Bells are currently on the label.
