Interstate 69 in the U.S. state of Texas is an extension of that existing Interstate Highway that is planned to pass through the eastern part of the state and along the Gulf Coast to near Victoria, where it may split into segments and terminate at either Laredo, McAllen, or Brownsville (or all three). It currently runs for 6.2 miles (10 km) from Interstate 37 in Corpus Christi to State Highway 44 in Robstown (co-signed with US 77) and also for 35 miles from Interstate 610 in Houston to Liberty County (co-signed with US 59). The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials has approved an additional 40 miles of the current US 59 through Houston and south to near Rosenberg, and 53 miles of US 77 from Brownsville to Raymondville for designation as I-69. Both of these sections will be signed as I-69 upon concurrence from the FHWA.
