Jack St. Clair Kilby (November 8, 1923 – June 20, 2005) was an American physicist who took part in the invention of the integrated circuit while working at Texas Instruments (TI) in 1958. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics in 2000. He is credited (along with Robert Noyce) with the invention of the integrated circuit or microchip. He is also the inventor of the handheld calculator and thermal printer.
