High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Josef Paldus (born November 25, 1935) is a Distinguished Emeritus of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. His research is mainly in the field of quantum chemistry. Among other things, he is known (together with Ji?i ?izek) for the introduction of coupled cluster (CC) theory in quantum chemistry and the adaptation of the CC method to electronic systems. He also invented the unitary group approach, which is an efficient way of computing Hamiltonian matrix elements over spin eigenstates that appear in electronic correlation problems.
