The film stars Gemini Ganesan and Savitri in the lead, while Kamal Hassan made his debut in this film as a child artist. The film`s highly-acclaimed soundtrack was composed by R. Sudharsanam. It tells story is about how the daughter of a poor peasant bewitches the son of a wealthy landlord, who eventually wins her hand despite her initial reluctance.
