Contemporary organizations use teams to exploit their knowledge resources. Software companies are a case in the point. Software teams possess diverse portfolios of know-how, skills, and abilities that are integrated with knowledge inputs from external sources to achieve the team's objectives. But, there are a host of issues that can affect how well the team integrates its internal and external knowledge resources.
