High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! L.A.M.F. is the only studio album by the American band The Heartbreakers, which included Johnny Thunders, Jerry Nolan, Walter Lure and Billy Rath. The music is a mixture of punk, R&B and rock and roll. The band played a seminal role in the formation of early punk. Thunders and Nolan were previously in the New York Dolls, an important protopunk band. Biographer Nina Antonia states in the L.A.M.F. liner notes that "Johnny and his wise-guys were not a punk band, in the 1976 application of the term, they were N.Y. street punks playing rock n` roll but the kids still pogoed."
