McDonald's Restaurants of Canada (French: Les restaurants McDonald's du Canada) is the Canadian branch of the popular fast-food restaurant chain McDonald's. One of Canada's largest fast-food restaurant chains, the franchise sells food items including hamburgers, chicken, french fries and soft drinks all across the country. McDonald's is known for its high fat and calorie foods, but it also has alternatives such as salads, juices and milk. McDonald's was previously Canada's largest food service operator before being overtaken by Tim Hortons in 2005. The slogans used in Canada are "I'm Lovin' It" (in English) and "C'est ca que j'm" (in French). As of April 2008, deli sandwiches, and the Big Xtra burger are no longer on the menu. The Big Xtra remains available in most Wal-Mart McDonald's. The BLT Sandwich has been replaced with the BLT served on a ciabatta bun. As of October 2008, the Turkey BLT was removed from McDonald's Menu's in Canada. There are also some new chicken sandwiches also served on ciabatta.
