Maharaj Sri Nagendra Singh (Rajasthan, 18 March 1914 - The Hague, 11 December 1988) was president of the International Court of Justice (1985-1988) Singh served on the United Nations International Law Commission from 1967 to 1972. He joined the International Court of Justice in 1973 and was its presiding judge between February 1985 and February 1988. He was appointed representative in UNO assembly in 1966, 1969, 1975. He was also elected secretary in international bar association, and served as Chief Election Commissioner of India. He was awarded the Kama award in 1938. He was born into the Rajput Sisodia Royal family of Dungarpur, Rajasthan in India as the third son of Maharaja Sri Sir Bijaya Singh, and rose through the Indian civil service becoming secretary to the president between 1966 and 1972. He earlier served as joint secretary in India's Defense Ministry, Director-General of Transport and special secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
