The band are considered one of the first of the current Home Counties scene of young bands using the internet along with a D.I.Y. approach to promote themselves and gain fans, after receiving heavy press and internet attention during and following the independent release of their 2006 EP "Tell Everyone What You Saw Tonight", and the leak of their 2007 "Summer Demos '07", an apparently accidental release which led to label attention in the US, and sparked a series of events which eventually led to the band's decision to break up. However Naked in Black! is still considered popular and the members' current projects (including Aunty Doubles and others) have been well received by fans of the band.
