Nalewka usually contains 40% to 45% alcohol by volume. It is made by macerating various ingredients in alcohol, which is usually vodka or rectified spirit. In contrast to other liqueurs, nalewka is usually aged. The name nalewka is currently being registered for national appellation within the European Union.
