He is the winner of the Raja Ravi Varma Award for the year 2003. Artist Namboothiri was born at Karuvattu Mana of Ponnani. He was a disciple of renowned artist K. C. S. Paniker. He is famous for his own style of "Line sketches or Rekhachithrangal".
