Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Nandoni Dam (previously known as the Mutoti Dam)is situated along the Luvuvhu River (Nandoni means "the iron smelting ovens".) It is situated at the village of ha-Mutoti and ha-Budeli just about few kilometres from Thohoyandou in the district of Vhembe in Limpopo province. The river follows a course along the southern edge of the Zoutpansberg and eventually joins the Limpopo River in the far northern corner of the Kruger National Park on the border between South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. A serious drought during the beginning of the 1990 decade, when numerous boreholes in Venda and Gazankulu regions failed and consequently drinking water had to be delivered by tankers, caused the Department of Water Affairs to start investigations into the feasibility of providing a safe reliable water supply for the region.
