Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. A nanga is a harp, used from early times in Africa. Particularly, this was the most primitive form of harps in ancient Egypt and consisted of 3 or 4 strings. It has a vaulted body of wood, and the back is divided by a sound bar, on which the strings are wound. Parchment was stretched over without interfering with the stick. Some of these early ones still survive. These instruments, traditionally with 7 strings, are still used in African folk music.
