Disc one features seventeen bands from the state of Nebraska and disc two features seventeen bands from the state of North Carolina. The idea was formed by Redemption president Ryan Kuper, who was born in Council Bluffs, IA and later moved to Los Angeles, CA. It was initially developed by Mark Edel for Fermilab and released under a very restrictive licence, but today it is distributed under the less restrictive GNU General Public License.
