It is the official Tamil adaptation of the internationally-renowned Sony Pictures Television-owned game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and its successful Hindi adaptation Kaun Banega Crorepati. Since its inaugural episode on 27 February 2012, the first season of the show was aired on STAR Vijay and hosted by actor Suriya Sivakumar until 12 July 2012, and went on to feature celebrity guests as participants as well. Actor Prakash Raj is being considered to host the show`s second season, after Suriya had declined the offer.
