It connects Downtown Las Vegas with Henderson and (indirectly) Boulder City to the southeast. The highway is primarily known as Boulder Highway, but is named Fremont Street within the Las Vegas city limits. Present-day State Route 582 officially begins at Interstate 515/U.S. Route 93/U.S. Route 95 interchange at Wagonwheel Drive in Henderson, although the highway itself actually starts at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Wagonwheel Drive just east of the interchange.
