Objective Proficiency offers thorough preparation for the revised Certificate of Proficiency in English examination (December 2002 syllabus). Its twenty short units provide a wide range of challenging topics and lively, systematic preparation for the exam. The Teacher`s Book includes five additional photocopiable progress tests, suggested lesson plans, cultural background information, optional extension activities, answer keys, tapescripts and teaching notes. Key features of Objective Proficiency: 20 units, each containing three double-page lessons, allow flexible course use. - 10 `Exam Folders` provide helpful practice and advice for each part of the exam. - 10 `Writing Folders` give extensive support for the new Paper 2 tasks. - 10 lessons focus on the Paper 3 summary task, and build up appropriate skills gradually. - A `Grammar Folder` appendix, containing explanations and examples, complements the inductive approach taken in the lessons. - The material has been informed by the Cambridge Learner Corpus, which shows typical Proficiency errors. - Authentic language examples, taken from the Cambridge International Corpus, illustrate a wide range of English usage.
