High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Pan-African Socialist Party (French: Parti socialiste panafricain, PSP) was a Togolese political party advocating socialism and pan-Africanism. It was founded in the early 1990s in response to Togo's legalization of opposition parties. After the assassination of its first and brighest leader, Tavio Amorin, in July 1992, the party fell into obscurity. The Togolese police were responsible for the killing.A political party is a political organization that typically seeks to attain and maintain political power within government, usually by participating in electoral campaigns, educational outreach or protest actions. Parties often espouse an expressed ideology or vision bolstered by a written platform with specific goals, forming a coalition among disparate interests.
