He received his Master of Music degree from New England Conservatory and a Ph.D. in music from the University of California, San Diego. He has collaborated with Pauline Oliveros, and Indian santurist Nandkishor Muley, and co-founded the Deep Listening Band.Singing is the act of producing musical sounds with the voice, and augments regular speech by the use of both tonality and rhythm.
