The merger of Paris Metro line 3bis and line 7bis is projected to create a new line of the Paris Metro, from station Chateau Landon to station Gambetta, and would be put in operation before 2013.The line 7bis would be also extended one station to the west, to have its terminus in Chateau Landon (for easing its interconnection with RER E in station Magenta and give access to Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord via existing pedestrian links), instead of station Louis Blanc, but with the creation of a new tunnel and extensive works on this last station (so this extension could be finalized after the opening of the new line). For now, this last segment can is used by existing line 7.
