His collaboration with Kenneth Branagh and the Shakespearean community is well known, but his scoring talents are versatile, and he has composed orchestral scores for a variety of films and film genres, including Disney's Shipwrecked, the gangster drama Carlito's Way and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. In the latter half of the 1990s, he utilised a combination of synthesizers, chorus, and solo vocals, along with a traditional orchestra.
