Paul Maxwell (November 12, 1921 - December 19, 1991) was an actor working mostly in British television and films, where he was usually cast as an American. In terms of audience, his most notable role was probably as Elsie Tanner's ex-GI bridegroom in her 1967 wedding on the long-running and widely popular soap-opera Coronation Street.He appeared in many of ITC's TV productions, such as Danger Man, and particularly those made by Gerry Anderson's production company Century 21, as these shows had plenty of American roles. He played the main character Steve Zodiac in Fireball XL5 and played Captain Grey in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons in the first twelve episodes.
