Paul Vincent Picerni (December 1, 1922 - January 12, 2011) was an American actor.Picerni was born in New York City, New York. He was an Eagle Scout who joined the Army Air Forces during World War II, where he served as a first lieutenant bombardier in the China-Burma-India Theater. He flew 25 combat missions and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was the bombardier on one of the planes which attacked and destroyed the real bridge made famous in the film The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957). After the Japanese surrendered, Picerni became a Special Services officer in India. Following his discharge, he enrolled at Loyola Marymount University, at Los Angeles.
